James Garren « .. I am directing « Guernica » of Fernando Arrabal under the supervision of Risa Brainin…Â It has been an amazing experience…. I want to start by saying … the actor playing Lira interact with Fanchou on stage… I picked the show because I felt it spoke to the inner child in all of us, and for how beautiful and pure it is… To me it is about the relationship between Lira and Fanchou, and how even through all their disappointments, regrets, and shortcomings, ultimately it is their love that is important and beautiful… It is their pure, playful, and childish love that cannot be brought down by petty guns and hatred. We began to construct a version of play where it is obvious to the audience that Lira is in fact stuck but we suspended reality in order for him to physically interact with his wife… »
